Benjamin, a hard-up painter, decides to try and recover the 1500 francs he lent his friend Emile. However, an insolvent Emile leads him through a series of bizarre and mysterious encounters. From Zorba the potato barterer, to meeting a morning Messiah, young men in search of a few bills saunter through the streets of Paris.
